Transform Your Workplace: Prevent GBV, Bullying & Burnout at the Root.
Your training = community impact:
For every staff member trained, Thrive trains three youth or learners in vulnerable communities.

Building a New Generation of Emotionally Intelligent Leaders. They bring these tools into youth spaces, empowering young people to regulate emotions, break cycles of violence, and build healthier relationships.

Where Connection Begins, Transformation Follows. From GBV and bullying prevention to emotional literacy and nervous system regulation, our workshops give communities the skills they need to create safety and connection that lasts.
The barriers we face aren’t structural, they’re emotional.
We equip and empower people with the emotional and somatic tools needed to address GBV, bullying and leadership burnout at their root. By developing emotionally intelligent leaders across corporates, schools and communities, we drive meaningful behaviour change and create lasting social impact.
We go to the root: unregulated emotions. Our somatic method transforms the emotional patterns driving GBV, bullying and burnout.

Every training creates a ripple effect, empowering youth and communities with the emotional tools to heal, relate and lead.

For every corporate team we train, three youth or community members receive emotional-regulation training. Your investment creates immediate, measurable social impact.
We don’t just train, we multiply impact through Thrive Initiators who carry emotional intelligence skills into high-risk communities.
We use a somatic, root-cause approach that transforms the emotional patterns behind GBV, bullying and burnout, not just the behaviour.

The Thrive Initiative is equipping people with somatic and emotional-regulation tools, we empower them to respond differently to stress, conflict and trauma. Our facilitators work across schools, churches, youth groups, townships and corporate offices to ensure that healing, leadership and emotional safety are no longer privileges, but shared human rights.
Reducing bullying and school violence by teaching learners and educators how to self-regulate and communicate safely.
Breaking cycles of gender-based violence by addressing the emotional root causes that drive harm.
Strengthening families through emotional-awareness tools that rebuild connection, repair and trust.
Reducing addiction, gang involvement and high-risk behavior by building emotional resilience in youth.
Restoring community cohesion by helping people regulate fear, anger and distrust.
Every individual learns to lead with empathy, awareness, and connection starting in their own relationships.
Cycles of pain are broken as healing becomes a collective practice, not a private burden.
We equip facilitators to lead purpose driven businesses and partner with companies & communities.
Connection heals. Connection leads. Fear drives disconnection. Through practical somatic methods, we transform internal fear into connection. As we experience this change within ourselves and our communities, we create sustainable opportunities and foster deeper connection. By teaching these practices through our Thrive Initiatives, we empower others to create meaningful impact. This ripple effect is how lasting social and economic change begins.

Healing our trauma is our responsibility, not because we caused it, but because we have the power to end its cycle.
Our children are entering schools with heavy emotional wounds and our schools aren’t equipped.
Violence, addiction, and anxiety are rising, and connection is the antidote.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THRIVE INITIATIVE EMBARKS ON KZN SCHOOL ROADSHOW TO UNDERSTAND
BULLYING, EMOTIONAL WELLBEING AND SUPPORT NEEDS
The Thrive Initiative, a purpose-driven organisation focused on emotional intelligence and
stress management, will embark on a KwaZulu-Natal roadshow this April with a dedicated
focus on engaging directly with schools to better understand the emotional challenges faced
by learners and educators.
This roadshow marks a strategic shift towards a fact-finding and research-driven approach,
where Thrive will meet with school leadership, teachers, and learners to explore the realities
on the ground, particularly around bullying, emotional wellbeing, and the growing pressures
affecting school environments.
Rather than delivering a predefined programe, Thrive’s primary objective is to listen, learn,
and gather insights that will inform tailored interventions aligned to the specific needs of
each school community.
“Before we can offer solutions, we need to deeply understand the lived experiences within
schools,” says Brian Segal, founder of the Thrive Initiative. “This roadshow is about creating
space for honest conversations with educators and learners, so we can identify what support
is truly needed, especially when it comes to bullying, stress, and emotional regulation.”

Across KwaZulu-Natal, Thrive will engage schools in structured discussions and informal
dialogues aimed at unpacking:
The current state of bullying and peer dynamics
Emotional and behavioural challenges among learners
The pressures faced by educators in managing these issues
Existing support systems and where gaps may exist
Thrive recognises that many challenges within schools including bullying, disengagement,
and behavioural issues are often symptoms of deeper emotional stress and a lack of
effective coping mechanisms. By focusing on these root causes, the organisation aims to co-
create meaningful, practical support strategies with schools.
The insights gathered during this roadshow will contribute to the development of customised,
school-based programmes that focus on:
Building emotional intelligence among learners
Equipping educators with practical tools for classroom management and emotional
support
Improving communication and relationships within the school environment
Creating safer, more supportive spaces for learning
Thrive’s approach is grounded in key principles:
Awareness over blame
Practical tools over theory
Empowerment through conscious choice and response
A central concept in Thrive’s methodology is restoring balance between cognitive
understanding and emotional awareness, enabling individuals to respond more
constructively to stress, conflict, and social challenges.
“This is not a one-size-fits-all solution,” adds Segal. “Each school has its own dynamics,
challenges, and strengths. Our role is to partner with schools to understand these nuances
and build interventions that are relevant, practical, and sustainable.”
The KwaZulu-Natal school roadshow forms part of Thrive’s broader national rollout strategy
and reinforces its commitment to early intervention, preventative support, and long-term
impact within education systems.

By placing schools at the centre of this engagement, the Thrive Initiative aims to play a
meaningful role in shaping healthier, more resilient learning environments across South
Africa.
